Payroll Management Software

This enterprise application is a robust payroll solution facilitating employee data management which will include computing salaries, income taxes and deductions.


User authentication and authorization
Both HTTP and Cookie-based user authentication will be employed at various entry points requiring restrictive access on the web portal. A role-based privilege system will also be used to authorize users at various levels of administering the portal.
This will be implemented using similar Open Source CAPTCHA generators and validators as used on the standard software.
Disable Scripting Actions
Scripting will be used sparingly on the software for design and usability enhancements only. This will ensure that the software does not awfully degrade in accessibility and performance in an event that scripting is disabled on a visitor’s computer.
Permission Functionality
As already described in the User authentication and authorization section above, permission constraints will be enforced by ensuring that every registered user on the portal will be allocated “rights” that determine the tasks that such user will be authorized to perform.
Validation of data
>All user inputs into the portal will be validated both on the client and the application server to ensure data integrity, and also improve the security of the portal against malicious online activity.
Malicious File execution
File access permissions will be implemented both at the user authorization level of the portal (using enforced user rights), and at the operating system’s file system layer.
Guard Against Phishing
User profiles will be stored securely in a database with sensitive information such as usernames and passwords encrypted with strong one-way encryption algorithms.
Error handling
HTTP errors caused by incorrect urls, data validation errors and other user-generated errors will be gracefully handled. While data validation errors will be well explained and displayed to the user for further input, other forms of errors will be logged on the server and emails sent to the administrator for further investigations.


Paychoice™ is a highly customized and flexible automated system. It handles specific payroll tasks such as:

  1. Setting up of new employees in Personnel Folder. Employee payroll-specific information is filled as at the time a new employee joins your organization.
  2. Collecting staff- time information. Hours worked for employees are recorded here. This will involve the use of biometric solution which will record the number of hours spent at work by staff.
  3. Summarizing wages due. The number of hours worked by an employee’s standard wage rate is computed here. This is particularly useful for overtime and non-salary employees.
  4. Reviewing changes in employee data. Changes in paychecks of employees can also be made here. For instance changes in tax, pension, medical deductions, etc.
  5. Tax computation.
  6. Computation of wage deductions.
  7. Creating a payroll register. Summary of wage and deduction information for each employee on a payroll register. This can be used to compile entry into the general ledger, to prepare tax reports, etc.
  8. Issuing pay slips.
  9. Issuing government payroll reports. Whenever Government requests payroll-related reports, this can easily be generated from the payroll register.
  10. Payroll control. Errors, especially innocent ones can be made by a payroll clerk. These errors may be due to poor employee training. Paychoice provides Authentication and Review controls to track errors before they are made.
  11. Exporting. Data and reports are exportable to Excel, CSV and HTML formats
  12. Outputting to other external applications. Final outputs can be integrated into other systems like legacy solutions

The Payroll Solution comes with an Automated Payment Suite that caters for salary and other regular payments. This is a platform that will allow online real-time crediting of personnel entitlements irrespective of where the accounts of the intended beneficiaries are domiciled.
